The European Council has approved the extension of the Euratom Research and Training Programme for 2 years until 2027 in line with the EU budget. The 2026-2027 Euratom Programme will also contribute to achieving the objectives of Horizon Europe.
Additional funds will support co-funded partnerships in fusion, waste management and nuclear material research as well as an extension of the PIANOFORTE partnership for radiation protection research. €115 million have been earmarked for indirect actions in nuclear fission, safety and radiation protection. New projects in nuclear safety will also be announced.
