The 6th European Radiation Protection Week (ERPW 2022) took place in Estoril, Porutgal, from October 914, featuring a variety of workshops and meetings to discuss many facets of radiation protection, including issues related to the medical field.
For those who could not attend or for a refresher, workshop presentations for each day of the conference can be downloaded on the conference website.
EURAMED was heavily involved in the proceedings, hosting its annual General Assembly for members and 3 sessions on medical applications of ionising radiation. The scientific programme is available here, and a list of sessions relevant to EURAMED is below.

For the second year, EURAMED bestowed an award to the best medical radiation protection research abstract. This year’s winner was Dr. Naghmeh Mahmoodian (Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, DE), who presented research on the topic “Lung and Lung Tumour Segmentation of CT Images during MWA Therapy Using AI Algorithm.” The inaugural winner at ERPW 2021 was Dr. Uta Eberlein of University Clinic Würzburg, DE.
