At ERPW 2024 in Rome, Italy, EURAMED bestowed its 4th annual EURAMED award recognising outstanding medical radiation protection research from early-career professionals. With so many abstracts submitted in this field this year, EURAMED’s Scientific Committee had a daunting challenge to select a winner and two runners up.
These three were recognised at the EURAMED award ceremony on Thursday, November 14.
The 2024 winner is Dr. Katarína Vigašová of the Biomedical Research Center of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava, Slovakia, for her research entitled Individual Radiosensitivity of Breast Cancer Patients! The winner will be supported for registration, travel and accommodation to ERPW 2025.
The two runners up are Ms. Dominika Kochanová, also of the Biomedical Research Center in Slovakia, for her research of Evaluation of DNA Damage and Genetic Instability in Interventional Radiologists and Ms. Maronia Chetcuti of the University of Malta for Calibration of Thermoluminescence Dosimetry Crystals for Patient Organ Dosimetry in Computed Tomography (Accepting the award is Eric Pace, University of Malta).
