The IMAGEOMICS project, selected for funding under the PIANOFORTE initiative’s 2023 call, has established a PhD position in physics at the University of Pavia, Italy, beginning in October 2024. Research activities are oriented towards artificial-intelligence applications in medical physics.
The title of the position is “Optimizing benefit/risk ratio in breast cancer diagnosis and radiotherapy: using bio-informatic and AI-based approaches on high-dimensionality data of molecular, cellular and imaging signatures of breast cancer heterogeneity to improve personalized therapeutic strategies.” The call is now open, and application information can be found on this university webpage.
The application deadline is July 1.
The PhD programme is formally in physics, but the position is open to candidates with different backgrounds such as bioinformatics, biology, engineering and mathematics. The candidate should be interested in joining the IMAGEOMICS team. The programme itself foresees the possibility of spending up to 12 months abroad as well as visits to other IMAGEOMICS partners.
