On 18 December 2020, a political agreement on the research and training programme of the European Atomic Energy Community (EURATOM) for the period 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2025 was reached.
It aims at pursuing nuclear research and training activities with an emphasis on the continuous improvement of nuclear safety, security and radiation protection, as well as to complement the achievement of Horizon Europe’s objectives.
The envisaged total budget is €1.38 billion. The agreed text of the regulation will be submitted to the Council for adoption in the first months of 2021.
